The University of Auckland - Biophotonic Laboratory

The Biophotonics Lab in the Department of Physics at the University of Auckland uses the light to explore and understand biological samples and processes. Our team develops and applies advanced optical techniques such as optical coherence tomography, spectroscopy, nonlinear microscopy, and optical tweezers. From tiny bacteria and crustaceans to cartilage, the inner ear, and the lymphatic system, we use light-based tools to study a wide range of organisms and tissues.
